The French Line

Original Rare UK Half Sheet for this 1954 Lloyd Bacon Paris France romantic musical. The movie famously portrays Bikini clad Jane Russell as she performs a shake-and-shimmy number that had censors in an uproar, and the film was initially denied a Production Code Seal. Producer Howard Hughes eventually got the seal, and laughingly acknowledged "about a million dollars worth of free publicity" for all the fuss. Quiet difference and rare artwork for this title.

Note that this poster has never been machine folded! Most pre-1970 half-sheet posters were folded once horizontally and once vertically right off of the printing press. It is very difficult to find an unfolded example of most pre-1970 half-sheet posters
